The Chemist has been hard at work crafting a debut album of abstract bluesy folk rock - recording in new Perth studio The Wasteland, with ARIA award winning Producer/Engineer Matt Lovell (Mess Hall) and currently mixing with Canadian based mixer Burke Reid (The Drones).

Woodford folk festival is like a wild circus dreamed up by some crazy pixie who smokes too much of his garden patch delights. We camped out in the mud and rain, though oblivious to the conditions we were missing appropriate provisions (last time I was there with bob evans it was crazy hot). So adventuring bare foot through mud I am well versed, if you ever need someone to walk bare foot through a festival sized mud cake, I am your man.

As another round of summer tours begin, we look back fondly on The Chemist on the road with Boy & Bear...

Upon our arrival to our home state, we were showered with gifts of profanities from all the people we had outstanding debts with since we skipped the State back in June. So on a river of cuss words, we walk on swear word water to Fremantle's Newport with none other than our good friends, The Panda Band. The Panda Band is a band i highly recommend you check out. A night inside the skull of the Amplifier bar proceeded with The Sun Orchestra & Split Seconds. Ye old stomping ground provided comfort-ability, Ye old stomping ground provided familiar faces & Ye old stomping ground provided Gin. So on a river of gin we sailed to Margaret River on a boat made from an acoustic guitar (we made a trade with that Josh Pyke guy).... again with the sun orchestra lads we burnt into the night meeting some nice people and talking about days of old and days of new and days of blue.
